iFLY Youth - Cartagena, Colombia Trip

iFLY Youth exposes middle school aged girls of color in the Washington, DC area to leadership development, character building and international travel. They prioritize girls who normally wouldn't have the opportunity to travel due to financial restraint.

I interviewed the founder of iFLY Youth in 2018 and was moved by the organization's mission and purpose. She explained that while their first trip to Costa Rica was successful, she wasn't able to capture the experience through photography. The importance of capturing these trips can translate into donations and support of the organization. People need to see the impact of these trips for young girls. So, I offered to volunteer my photography services and expenses for the trip.

It was my first time volunteering my photography services for an international project. Through the generous donations from family and friends via Go Fund Me, I raised enough money to cover my travel and lodging expenses.
